After School Program Leader (Hourly)
City of Modesto After School Program Leader (Hourly) Salary and Benefits
Salary: $15.76 – $19.16 Hourly
SICK LEAVE: Employees employed with the City of Modesto for six (6) full pay periods or more receive sick leave credit at the rate of twenty-four (24) hours or three (3) days per calendar year, per AB 1522.
PUBLIC AGENCY RETIREMENT SERVICES ALTERNATE RETIREMENT SYSTEM PLAN (PARS ARS): Total contribution of 7.5% – employee pays 3.75% of wages (pre-tax) and the City pays 3.75%.
Qualification and Experience for After-School Program Leader
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of:
- CPR and First aid methods and procedures.
- State of California curriculum based on Common Core Standards.
- Positive discipline and redirection techniques.
- Practices and techniques to achieve group cooperation in recreation programs.
- Instructional techniques and strategies.
- Light custodial maintenance techniques.
After School Program Leader USA Jobs Responsibilities
- Supervise program participants.
- Supervise and maintain an appropriate student to staff ratio, maximum ratio of 20:1.
- Promote and ensure a safe and positive environment for all program participants.
- Provide academic assistance to program participants.
- Plan and implement site curriculum, recreational and enrichment activities.
- Provide positive discipline and redirection to program participants, adhere and enforce all rules consistently and equitably.
- Monitor and report any observations or concerns regarding the needs and problems of participants to supervisory staff.
- Assist in daily set-up and cleanup; maintain a clean, organized and safe environment for participants.
- Attend all designated meetings and trainings.
- After School Program Leader USA Jobs Requirements
- This is a part-time, at-will, non-benefited position. Hours are limited to less than 1,000 hours per year.
- Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work.
- Work with various cultural and ethnic groups in a tactful and effective manner.
- Communicate in a clear and concise manner.
- Develop favorable public relations and maintain an appearance that projects a positive image.
- Think clearly, quickly and accurately in emergencies.
- Maintain an atmosphere that is physically and emotionally safe.
- Work various shifts including days, evenings, weekend and holidays as assigned.
- Prepare reports and records.
